The Predator receives two-hour standing ovation at Venice Film Festival

Audience members broke into thunderous applause after watching the film about two minge-faced aliens battering the shit out of each other

Film journalists and bloggers alike clapped for 120 minutes solid after the festival premiered the latest instalment of the Predator franchise, which has been described as a masterpiece akin to the works of Ernst Ingmar Bergman.

After the screening, critic Peter Staker said: “I would have stood for a further two hours if they’d let me. The Predator is a work of art, a profound exploration of the human desire to seek enlightenment and run from things that might skin you alive.

“My favourite bit was when the massive hybrid Predator tossed the other Predator on top of the car and then roared ferociously – a clear metaphor for the ever-damaging effects of the meat and motor vehicle industries.”

Blogger Aaron Walker said: “I. Liked. The. Way. They. Did. The. Special. Effects. It. Was. Really. Good. We need MORE films like this at festivals because the ones with subtitles are fucking boring and I have no idea what they’re about.

“I gave the film a standing ovation mainly because it wasn’t some Hungarian shit that started at 8am.”
